Hello Neighbor!
Elections are important! As we now watch our country in upheaval over cultural divisions, economic woes, and foreign threats, we must remember that we cannot elect incompetent people and expect to get a good outcome. Local elections are also very important. Twenty-eight states had state legislative races decided by fewer than 100 votes in the 2022 elections. It happens here in Jackson County, too. There were several very close races in 2022, including the Independence mayor’s race which was won by 106 votes, and one of the House races was razor-thin.
But these narrow margins give us an opportunity! If all it takes is 100 votes to swing hundreds of races in more than half the United States, then conservative voters (if we are organized) can win every single one of them—and shift the balance of power back towards faith, family, and Constitutional freedom. It will take people getting involved in whatever way they can, but it is within our reach.
This is an “off-year,” and winning elections is much easier in off years because people aren’t paying attention. Therefore, if we are paying attention, then we win. Spring (April) elections are extremely important on a local level but people often don’t know what’s happening. The biggest problem is getting information out to our conservative voters. This newsletter is a part of that fight.

The Rule of Law is Dead!
In this country Justice is supposed to be blind—“equal Justice for all.” We’ve done that for 250 years and overall it’s worked pretty well. But now, something is changing fast! Many of us were shocked Thursday, March 30, when a Manhattan Grand Jury charged a former president with a crime. One of Trump’s lawyers argued, “When you stretch the law to convict your enemy, it never comes back.”
Looks like we are now no better than Nazi Germany or any other totalitarian government who twists their laws to prosecute their political enemies. We don’t want to live in a country where the party in power uses the police state to arrest their political enemies.
Democrats repeat ad nauseam, “No one is above the law.” But they don’t really mean that. Hillary Clinton is above the law because she was never prosecuted for her crimes, and so is Hunter Biden, and several other law breakers who are Democrats. It’s interesting that only 24 hours after it was revealed that the Biden family received $1 million from the Chinese Government, the pending arrest of Donald Trump was leaked to the press. This, of course, took over the news cycle and nothing was reported by the big media about the Biden corruption.
America is staring tyranny in the face right now. This is exactly what Communism looks like, and remember what they say about that: “You can vote your way into Communism but you have to shoot your way out.” We are NOT promoting shooting, but Democrats can’t possibly understand the severe damage they have done to our country to keep their power.
Democrat Congressman, Jerry Nadler said in 2019, “We cannot trust the voters to get Trump out of office.” Washington now feels threatened by the people. We are the terrorists. We are the biggest danger to America, as several cabinet members have reminded us.
Tucker Carlson says that the difference is between people who think they are god (can change their gender, etc) and those who know that aren’t. These Leftists always blame others for their problems. Notice how everyone on the Left is jumping on to support the Trans community after the Nashville shooting.
Friends, as a country we have the kind of government we want. It makes a great difference who you elect. We have to pay attention and vote carefully. AND we need to support conservative-owned businesses. (See below)

City Council Reports
Independence City Council -
- Independence has a petition circulating on lifting the ban on pit bulls. The City Council will have to make a decision on this. You can let your voice be heard.
- Soon after election the City Council plans to have a meeting to discuss whether to sell Independence Power & Light
KC City Council
- Votes to look into Reparations for slavery and segregation. Mayor Lucas will appoint a 13-member commission to report back to the council about how this can be implemented. Councilwoman Melissa Robinson and the Mayor have been pushing for reparations. Councilwoman Heather Hall, dissenting from the majority, says that this policy hasn’t worked for other cities (as in San Fran-sicko) and it won’t work here.
- Also, Mayor Lucas has decided to use $1 million of taxpayer money to pay for abortions across state lines. And the council is encouraging $7 million be spent on bike paths. “We think the money would be better spent on fixing potholes and picking up the trash,” says Mary Nestel, running for Council 6th district at large.
- Kansas City desperately needs some conservatives elected to the City Council. See those running above.
