Why does our Missouri legislature seem get so little accomplished? Maybe our legislative leadership needs to be changed? We hear from several other county party leaders that some of of our representatives need to be replaced by those who will listen to the people.
A Vetting Movement is on the rise all over Missouri. We want to know before we vote for primary candidates with an R beside their names that they will vote R, and not join with the Democrats who always vote as a unified block. It’s concerning that we have a super majority of Republicans sent by the people to our state legislature every year, but they fail to get done what the people want. Though there were a few good bills passed there was …
They did finally allow people in Missouri to state their party affiliation on their voter registration, which will greatly help us connect with Republican voters, but Kansas also asks for an email address of their voters and Missouri does not.
Many of our legislators want to pass sports betting, even though they know that gambling is a vice and an addiction for some people. Why is that a priority? Don’t we have enough gambling opportunities in Missouri already? Do they think it will give the state more money to spend? But when you go against God’s commandments, you are putting your money into “pockets with holes” (Haggai 1-2). If the state doesn’t have enough money, the legislature should first “consider your ways” and repair the “holes” which destroy personal and state wealth. Disobeying God doesn’t bring us personal peace and prosperity. And allowing more gambling in the state will not bring the state prosperity. We need to elect representatives with good principles.
